VNISH NINJA
VNISH Ninja / Return to stock firmware

A WORKING MINER

Back to stock. With the miner still running.

You want the miner back on Bitmain firmware, and its current interface still works. Use the firmware's stock-restore function for that task. A settings reset, a CVITEK relaunch and recovery of a board that will not boot are separate operations.

01

Keep what you will need after the change

Record the pool addresses, worker names and relevant network settings before removing the current firmware. Retain the full model, board and running version as well. Custom VNISH operating presets are not a stock configuration file.

Choose one intended miner and a suitable maintenance window. If the device is already unavailable or stuck in a boot loop, start from our recovery guide instead of looking for a button in an interface you cannot open.

02

Look for stock restoration, not a settings reset

Open the System area in the running firmware. On the interface described in our existing VNISH guide, the path is Backup and Restore, then Return to stock firmware. Other documented interface versions place Restore Stock under General or Maintenance. Match the command description to your actual version.

Before confirming, the action must explicitly mean removal of the custom firmware and restoration of stock. A command that only resets settings does not do that. If the available labels do not match this task, send us the running version and a screenshot of that menu rather than choosing the nearest-looking action.

03

Let the selected operation finish

Once the confirmed stock-restore operation starts, allow it to complete and the miner to restart. Do not overlap it with another firmware command. Keep the completion message so you can distinguish a finished operation from a disconnected browser tab.

After restart, read the actual firmware version, review the network and pool configuration, then confirm the intended worker is producing accepted work. The stock interface is the first visible result; the final useful result is the device running in the state you selected.

04

Three operations that should not be confused

Reset settings changes configuration. Return to stock removes the custom firmware through its stock-restoration route. Toolkit Restore firmware can mean relaunching VNISH on applicable CVITEK devices after a restart. A familiar word such as restore is not enough to choose the action.

For a non-booting board, use a recovery method matched to that model, board and state. For a working miner whose stock-restore menu is unclear, we need its version and menu, not a collection of unrelated firmware images.

Questions and answers

Will Reset settings return the miner to Bitmain firmware?

A configuration reset and stock restoration are different tasks. Use the command whose description explicitly restores stock firmware.

What if my menu says Restore Stock instead of Return to stock firmware?

Labels and menu placement can differ by interface version. Confirm the running version and the operation description. Both words must be interpreted in that interface, not as a universal menu path.

The miner does not boot. Can I follow the web-interface steps?

No accessible interface means this route cannot be followed as written. Use our recovery guide and provide the exact board, last operation and current state so the service route can be selected.

We can help choose the exact restoration route

Tell us the model, board, running version and whether its interface is available. That separates a normal return to stock from recovery.
